Day 01: Arrival at Coimbatore - Ooty
As you arrive at Coimbatore Airport, you’ll be greeted and welcomed by our representative who’ll accompany you to Ooty by road. It will be two-hour journey from Coimbatore to Ooty. On your arrival at Ooty, make a check-in to the hotel, freshen up, and have a delicious lunch. Thereafter, you are free to spend the time at leisure. Spend the night at Ooty.
Day 02: Ooty - Coonoor - Ooty
The day will start with a gorgeous breakfast at the hotel. Henceforth, get ready for a local tour of Ooty and Coonoor. In Ooty, you’ll visit Government Botanical Gardens. The 160 year old garden stretches over 55 acres of land and has some typical tree species, such as cork tree, paper bark tree and monkey puzzle trees - a tree which a monkey cannot climb, 20 million year old fossilized tree, an Italian-style garden bordering a clear pool, a vast variety of flowering bushes and plants in myriad hues, and fern house with an extensive range of ferns and orchids. The second destination at Ooty will be Ooty Lake, an artificial water body which adds beauty to Ooty’s tourist destinations.
Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak of Nilgiri Hills and located at the junction of Eastern and Western Ghats. Other destinations are Rose Garden, Pykara Lake, and Mini Garden. Later, you’ll proceed to Coonoor for more sightseeing venues. Here, you’ll visit Sim’s Park, a beautiful park housing a rare species of Eucalyptus, Acacia, Pinus, Cinnamomum etc. Though cameras are prohibited here, but you can splurge out Rs 25 to 250 to take along depending upon the camera. Dolphin Nose is the name of the peak which resembles a dolphin’s nose, therefore, the name of the peak is apt for its appearance. The last destination will be Ketti Valley View, the second largest valley in the world. In the evening, you’ll return to Ooty for night stay.
Day 03: Ooty - Kodaikanal
After morning breakfast, you’ll be driven to Kodaikanal - “Princess of Hill Stations”. Enjoy the beautiful scenic sights and waterfalls throughout the drive. On reaching Kodaikanal, a quick check in at the hotel will be made. Freshen up and the remaining time will be at your disposal. The night will be spent at the hotel.
Day 04: Kodaikanal
Pamper your taste buds with an exotic range of traditional delicacies for breakfast. This will be followed by an excursion of Kodaikanal. The first attraction will be the star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake, the most admired place in Kodaikanal which draws visitors in numbers. You can enjoy boating in the lake and capture views of other places surrounding the lake. Next, you’ll visit Bryant Park, situated close to Kodaikanal Lake. The park has a great collection of trees, shrubs, cactuses; thus becoming a rainbow of stunning flowers at season time. Other tourist destinations include Coaker’s Walk, Telescope House, Green Valley View, Pillar Rock, and Bear Shola Falls. Drive back to the hotel and spend the free time in shopping. Dinner and night’s rest will be at the hotel.
Day 05: Kodaikanal - Madurai
Post a delectable breakfast, you’ll proceed towards Madurai. The city has many nicknames to its credit, like City of Junctions, City of Jasmine, Temple City, City that Never Sleeps and City of Four Junctions. On your arrival at Madurai, you’ll make a check-in at the hotel and get ready for a city tour. You’ll first visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, a beautiful piece of architecture dedicated to Lord Shiva. From centuries, the temple has been a major attraction for all tourists. Visits to Gandhi Memorial Museum, Koodal Azhagar Temple, Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, and Mariamman Teppakulam will be made next. Return to the hotel for a sumptuous dinner and sleepover.
Day 06: Madurai - Rameswaram
Start the day with an early breakfast, after which you’ll be driven to the next destination of the tour - Rameswaram, one of the holiest centres in India. Once you reach Rameswaram, a quick check in will be followed by a local city tour. Rameswaram has many stories knitted in its history. It is believed that Lord Rama visited Rameswaram before going to Sri Lanka to save his wife Goddess Sita. Rameswaram is famous for one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines and is admired for its glorious corridors and enormous sculptured pillars lining them. Ramanathaswamy Temple, Dhanushkodi, Agnitheertham, and Gandamadana Parvatham will be other highlights. In the evening, you’ll come back to the hotel to spend the night.
Day 07: Rameswaram - Kanyakumari
Early in the morning, you’ll leave for Kanyakumari, also referred to as Cape Comorin, located at the southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula. When you arrive at Kanyakumari, you’ll make a check-in to the hotel and move out for a local tour. You’ll be visiting Vivekananda Rock - regarded as the sacred monument, which attracts large number of tourists every year from India as well as abroad. Gandhi Museum, believed to be constructed on the same place where the pot of Gandhi’s ashes was placed, is another major attraction. Kumari Amman Temple is a superb temple situated along the coast and provides mesmerizing views of the ocean to the tourists. Spend the time by the sea to witness the beautiful view of the sunset. Thereafter, move back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Kanyakumari - Trivandrum Departure
After having a luxurious morning meal at the hotel, you’ll be driven to Trivandrum. When you reach, you’ll be dropped at the airport to board the flight for your onward journey.
